I guess summer really is over, although now its over 100 degrees and we are all melting! It always does this, every year its so cool and wonderful, then school starts and we die of heat for a month. But we had a very calm morning no dramma just lots of traffic. I love that! I'll take happy kids over anything, even an hour and 15 mins in the car to drop everyone off. Carissa is in 10th grade, Addie 7th, Emma 4th and Thayne 1st. So far everyone has come home happy and loved all the teachers. Well Carissa hasn't made it home yet I'm sure she'll have some crazy story to tell it is high school right.
Well we have had some adventures in August and can you believe we have pictures to so for some of them. We have paid a visit to Southern California, first the girls made it down on the airplane to see Grandma & Grandpa for a few days then I drove the car down with the boys which we did in 6 hours and 15 mins(it was a great drive down) Then we hurried over to April's house for some dinner and cousin play time. The 14 an up kids went to the dance (Carissa said it was fun and lots of cute boys) Addison dolled up Victoria and sent them off, she secretly wanted to go she is our dance machine. But she stayed with me at Grandma's Then 11o'clock came around and I had to pick up a teenager way too late after driving all morning and family bonding all evening. Bob took care of the dance here at home and then headed down for some more fun family time! I can't find any picture of this but we had a blast with Cathy & David Sunday night, Yummy food, David playing with the giggly 2 year old ( He has to be the best uncle ever) and girls laughing and giggling over Aunt Cathy, then dessert Grandma is the best! On to Monday we loaded up the Truck with our new (too us) dining room table and the "rocker" Plus the added bonus of family pictures and dishes. The trip was fast but then Bob said we were going to the beach for 2 days!!! I LOVE THE BEACH! We all got a little kissed by the sun , ate Taco's on Taco Tuesday, went for morning runs on Balboa Island, and did lots of window shopping. We headed home and felt refreshed and wished we could vacation once a month.
Just a few picture to capture the fun we had.
...then after all this we got ready for school and we are off to 10th, 7th , 4th and 1st grade in 2 days! Colton and I are ready for potty training and story time's. Plus getting my house back in order. the kitchen floor doesn't stay clean for more then 30 mins. Good bye summer.
We have been going to swim meets about 2 times a week we have tons of clips from the flip and very little pictures. But we are proud parents of two fast swimmers. Emma moved up this year to 9-10 and swimming 50 yards (Yikes) but she has improved each week and has made a few "A" times. We were worried she would struggle but this she has NOT done! Thayne has become a 25 yard almost no breather! He has taken off time every week. Who would of known he LOVES swimming and is getting really good at it. Here are a few pictures of our families life at the swim meets!
We had to say good bye the to Shelby this was not the best part of our month. It was probably the hardest thing I ever had to do! The whole family was sad, mad, depressed and we all kind of just really miss our dog! She was the best dog ever and we think about her everyday. Carissa got to go to EFY in Provo this year. So she headed up a few days early and spent some time with the Hill Family! Too much fun was had and lots of pictures with BOYS! I think i might die, I left them out and just put a few of the girls.
We spent a week at Rucker Lake, this year we had tons of bugs and it was really warm so we spent lots of time in the water. It was wonderful, girls camp always is! Carissa and Bob went on a 30 mile hike which took them to 3 lakes and lots of snow. Addie went her first overnight hike to Blue lake with all her crazy 2nd year girls. And I stayed in Camp and ran the fun stuff we did all week. When I was a girl I loved camp and now as the Mom I still do. Those girls make me want to be better. We had a fun month we still have our anniversary in a few days and 3 more swim meets to go! Minus missing Shelby we had a busy fun month of July. Now on to August and school. I hope next month slows down I don't want the kids to go back to school yet.
